Expanded Court Petitioning Opportunities for Parents of Children with Developmental Challenges

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a new law that allows parents of children with developmental challenges to petition the courts to receive child support payments until their child is 26.

This will be a lifeline for custodial parents of children with these challenges as it allows them to continue to receive child support payments past the age of 21.
